This website compiles the final projects from the Fall 2016 Advanced Photography class at The Athenian School in Danville, CA. The class was based on the students finding their own artistic voice, and we began the semester with a series of quick, open-ended creative assignments before spending the entire second quarter working on these final projects. The prompt was "How do you see the world?" In his essay "On Writing," Raymond Carver says, "Every great or even every very good writer makes the world over according to his own specifications." The same can be said of any artist, and the strength of an artist's work is often due to how clearly they can describe their world to the viewer through their work. These projects aim to show the unique world views of each of these budding artists.
Please take some time to explore their projects and experience how twelve teenagers in the San Francisco Bay Area see the world.
